Trixie

Trixie is a sweet rescue lamb whose story began with one of the most unusual mysteries Butterfly Valley Rescue & Sanctuary has ever encountered. She was discovered alongside her best friend, Dixie, a tiny baby goat, after the pair were reportedly found abandoned on the side of Dixie Highway in Louisville. Still dependent on bottles and far too young to survive on their own, they were brought to safety while the sanctuary worked with state officials through the required stray hold process. No owner ever came forward, and Trixie officially became part of the Butterfly Valley family.

From the very beginning, Trixie has been full of love. Gentle, affectionate, and endlessly people-oriented, she quickly formed an unbreakable bond with both her human family and Dixie. The two are almost always found together, happily following their caretakers from place to place, making it nearly impossible to walk through the yard without a tiny shadow at your feet.

Today, Trixie is thriving in the safety of sanctuary life, surrounded by the family she was always meant to find. Her story is a reminder that even when life's beginnings are filled with unanswered questions, love can still provide a beautiful ending.
