Miles for Miracles

MILES FOR MIRACLES
Every mile has a name. Every life matters.
Inspired by the animals who call Butterfly Valley home, Miles for Miracles turns personal challenges into support for adaptive care, lifelong sanctuary, and second chances.
Each race is an opportunity to share their stories. Each donation helps provide the care that continues long after the finish line.
THEY INSPIRED THE FIRST STEP
Miles for Miracles began in spring 2026 with an ambitious goal: Butterfly Valley co-founder Brandon Feusner would return to a half marathon for the first time in nearly 20 years—with just 55 days to prepare.
The inspiration was waiting for him at home.
Residents like Phoebe, whose leg was amputated when she was just 19 days old. Chucky, who was born missing 13 vertebrae. And Baby Jane, whose cleft lip and wry jaw helped shape the heart of Butterfly Valley.
Caring for animals with different bodies and complex needs had taught Brandon how much the right support can matter. He wanted to carry their stories into the community while raising money to help provide that support.
The journey started with the Whiskey Row 5K, where MoonPie joined him across the finish line. It grew into training miles, more races, conversations with strangers, and a community cheering for something bigger than a finishing time.
On April 25, 2026, Brandon completed the Kentucky Derby Festival miniMarathon: 13.1 miles in 3 hours and 28 minutes.
The spring campaign raised $457 for Butterfly Valley.
What started as a personal challenge had become another way to show up for the animals.

THE MILES ADD UP. SO DOES THE DIFFERENCE.
$1,057 raised for the animals—and counting.
What began as a personal challenge has become a shared effort to support the animals who call Butterfly Valley home. Together, our supporters have helped Miles for Miracles pass its first $1,000 fundraising milestone.
