Ruth’s Journey to Butterfly Valley
Ruth, also known as Roo, is one of our sanctuary’s tiniest troublemakers with one of the biggest personalities. She came to the sanctuary immediately after birth following an emergency call for a pygmy goat mom struggling through a difficult labor. Ruth was the smallest of four babies, weighing just 2.7 pounds, and was initially having trouble with her back legs. To give her the best chance at survival, she was brought into sanctuary care.

Care That Changes
When Ruth first arrived, she received newborn support and close monitoring. She no longer requires specialized newborn care and now receives routine preventive care, safe shelter, appropriate nutrition, enrichment, and monitoring as part of sanctuary life.
