Reba
Reba is one of our sweetest special-needs residents and a beautiful example of resilience, gentleness, and hope. Shortly after birth, Reba suffered severe oxygen deprivation that left her with lifelong neurological and vision impairments. Before she was even given a real chance at life, she was found buried in the mud and left for dead. Thankfully, a compassionate family refused to give up on her and lovingly nursed her through those critical early days until she was strong enough to begin a new chapter.
Today, Reba thrives at the sanctuary, where the calm, predictable environment of the microsanctuary allows her to safely navigate the world around her with confidence. Despite her challenges, Reba has become known as the sanctuary’s gentle “babysitter,” often settling in beside baby goats, ducklings, and other tiny newcomers as if she instinctively knows they need comfort and safety.
Since arriving in last summer of 2025, Reba’s confidence has blossomed tremendously. She now enjoys attending community outreach events, meeting new people, and showing the world that different does not mean less. With her soft spirit, loving heart, and quiet strength, Reba reminds everyone she meets that even the most fragile beginnings can lead to an incredible life filled with love.
