Popcorn

Popcorn is a rescued Silkie chicken whose fluffy feathers, larger-than-life personality, and unmistakable diva energy have made her one of the most beloved residents at Butterfly Valley Rescue & Sanctuary. She arrived as a tiny chick alongside her best friend, Pretzel, after a compassionate young rescuer gave them both the chance to grow up safe and loved.

Never one to shy away from attention, Popcorn quickly became a favorite at community outreach events, where her dramatic personality and cloud-like fluff stole hearts everywhere she went. Beneath all that fluff, though, is a gentle, loyal chicken who has helped provide comfort and companionship to other rescued birds throughout her time at the sanctuary.

Like many rescues, Popcorn has faced a few unexpected bumps along the way—including recovering after being injured by another chicken—but she bounced back with the same confidence and spirit that made everyone fall in love with her in the first place. Whether she's supervising the flock, charming visitors, or embracing her role as the sanctuary's resident fluffy diva, Popcorn reminds us that kindness, resilience, and a little bit of sass make a pretty wonderful combination.
