Luna
Luna is one of the most beloved special needs residents at Butterfly Valley Rescue & Sanctuary. Rescued at just three days old after her mother developed severe mastitis and could no longer care for her litter, Luna quickly became part of the sanctuary family. As she grew, it became clear that Luna was blind — but she has never let that stop her from living life fully and fearlessly.
Known for her sweet personality, dramatic little snorts, and endless expressiveness, Luna has a way of stealing hearts almost instantly. She loves splashing in her pool during the summer, rolling in the mud, and exploring her safe outdoor spaces. Around the sanctuary, she’s equal parts sweetheart and tiny diva.
Because we believe she is “different, not less,” Luna has a specially designed private piggy space that helps her safely navigate the world around her while still giving her the freedom to enjoy life as a pig should. Luna is a beautiful reminder that disabilities do not define worth — and that every animal deserves the chance to thrive.
