Jenny

Jenny is a special-needs rescue goat whose story embodies everything our sanctuary stands for. Born with a bilateral cleft lip, Jenny arrived at the sanctuary at just two days old after struggling to nurse and needing specialized care to survive. From the beginning, she faced challenges that could have defined her life—but Jenny had other plans.

Strong-willed, confident, and full of personality, Jenny quickly grew from a tiny diaper-wearing baby into one of the sanctuary’s most recognizable ambassadors. Often compared to Baby Jane, the beloved cleft-lip goat whose story inspired the creation of Butterfly Valley, Jenny carries on that legacy while forging her own path. Whether she’s monitoring the world from her tiny blue door during her latest “neighborhood watch” shift, squeezing through windows she absolutely should not fit through, or claiming the best lounging spot in the pen, Jenny does everything with confidence and just a touch of sass.

She loves meeting people and has become a favorite at outreach events, where she proudly shows children and adults alike that being different is something to celebrate. Through her journey, Jenny helps educate others about congenital differences while proving every day that a cleft lip is only a small part of who she is.

Spunky, opinionated, and impossible not to love, Jenny is a living reminder that different is beautiful.
