Buddy

Buddy is a joyful rescued hair sheep whose personality is just as big as his heart. Originally purchased from an auction as a lamb, Buddy’s future changed the moment it was discovered he had been fixed and could no longer be used for breeding. Deemed “useless” by the industry standards that once defined his worth, Buddy instead found himself saved by a compassionate family who refused to let his story end in slaughter.

Although deeply loved, Buddy spent much of his early life as an “only sheep,” with dogs as his main companions. Wanting him to experience life with a real flock, his rescuers reached out to our sanctuary, where Buddy finally found the herd and companionship he deserved.

Nicknamed after Buddy the Elf because of his cheerful, bouncy, and endlessly happy personality, Buddy brings joy everywhere he goes. Whether he’s bouncing around the pasture, greeting his flock mates, or simply soaking up life at the sanctuary, Buddy is a beautiful reminder that an animal’s value should never be based on what they can produce — but simply on who they are.
