Waddles

Waddles is a sweet Pekin duck whose story perfectly reflects the mission of Butterfly Valley Rescue & Sanctuary. Born bow-legged, Waddles grew up with a physical difference that made her walk a little differently than other ducks. While she was deeply loved and well cared for by her previous family, her condition eventually led to bullying within her flock. Wanting her to have the peaceful life she deserved, they made the difficult decision to entrust her to the sanctuary.

Since arriving, Waddles has found exactly what every animal deserves—a place where being different is simply part of who you are. Gentle, curious, and full of quiet charm, she has settled beautifully into sanctuary life, spending her days exploring, relaxing, and enjoying the safety of a home where she is accepted exactly as she is.

Waddles is a wonderful reminder that sometimes all an animal needs to truly thrive is a place where differences are celebrated instead of judged. Her journey embodies Butterfly Valley's belief that different is beautiful.
