Lucky
Lucky is one of our sanctuary's most inspiring special-needs goats and a true example of the “Different is Beautiful” spirit. Born with significant congenital deformities and tendon contractures in both front legs, Lucky was unable to stand or walk like most goats. Instead, he adapted in his own way, learning to move using his front limbs and quickly earning the nickname “Spidergoat.”
Lucky arrived at the sanctuary at one month old after traveling 265 miles from East Tennessee to Louisville, Kentucky, so he could receive the long-term care, therapy, and rehabilitation he needed. From the beginning, his care included splinting, medication, therapy, and ongoing support to help protect his body as he grew. Though he has never been a big fan of assistive devices, Lucky has continued to adapt with determination, personality, and a whole lot of stubborn charm.
Today, Lucky is known for his soulful eyes, mischievous spirit, and his favorite hangout spot where he happily greets visitors and accepts treats. He shares a special bond with Hazel and continues to show the world that animals with limb differences can live full, joyful, meaningful lives.
