Kobe
Kobe is a resilient pygmy/myotonic goat whose journey at our sanctuary has been nothing short of extraordinary. Rescued at just five months old, Kobe was facing a life-threatening battle with urinary calculi — a painful and dangerous condition that can quickly become fatal in male goats. Ongoing complications, including abscesses, necrosis, and lingering stones led to Kobe underwent a major urological revision, including a perineal urethrostomy and castration, to give him the best chance at a safe and comfortable future.
His recovery required intensive monitoring, specialized care, and the support of an incredible veterinary team, but Kobe proved again and again that his will to live was stronger than the challenges in front of him. Thanks to careful diet management, hydration monitoring, and daily observation, Kobe continues to thrive while helping educate others about the importance of proper goat nutrition and early intervention.
Today, Kobe is a big, playful boy living happily in the Littles Pen with his goat friends. Whether he’s ruling from his favorite tire throne, joining enrichment activities, or simply enjoying the life he fought so hard to keep, Kobe is a powerful reminder that compassionate care can turn a medical crisis into a brand-new chapter.
