Whiskey

Whiskey was a tiny goat with an impossibly big spirit. Rescued during a brutal winter freeze at less than two weeks old and weighing under three pounds, Whiskey arrived at our sanctuary after suffering from devastating frostbite injuries to all four of his legs. Despite undergoing multiple amputations and facing challenges most animals could never imagine, Whiskey never once seemed to believe he was broken.

From the very beginning, he fought with everything he had. Through endless bandage changes, pain management, wound care, and uncertainty, Whiskey continued to move forward — eventually learning to scoot, balance, and navigate the world with incredible determination. Later, with the help of a custom quad-wheelchair, he was able to zoom around the sanctuary, explore outdoors, steal toys, demand snacks, and live life completely on his own terms.

But more than anything, Whiskey was love in its purest form. He was a best friend to every person and animal he met — gentle, trusting, affectionate, and endlessly comforting. Whether he was nibbling ears, giving kisses, or simply melting into someone’s arms, Whiskey had a way of making the world feel softer for everyone around him.

Though his life was far too short, Whiskey changed countless hearts around the world and became a symbol of resilience, compassion, and what special-needs rescue animals are truly capable of. He reminded everyone who followed his journey that disability does not diminish joy, worth, or quality of life.

Whiskey was never broken.

He was everything.
