Tango
Tango was a tiny goat with a broken spine and an unbreakable spirit. He arrived at our sanctuary at less than 24 hours old after a spinal injury left him unable to properly use his back legs. Though his body faced enormous challenges from the very beginning, Tango never once acted like he was limited. From day one, he was full of life, determination, and a love for absolutely everyone around him.
As he grew, Tango became known for his infectious smile, dramatic love of treats, and speedy determination to get wherever he wanted to go — especially if snacks were involved. Whether he was zooming around the sanctuary, rolling through outreach events in a wagon beside his best friend Whiskey, demanding pup cups, or playing with his favorite hay ball, Tango approached every moment with pure joy. His injury may not have been immediately obvious to strangers, but those who knew him understood just how hard his little body worked every single day.
Tango only had 70 days on this earth, but in that short time he changed countless hearts. He reminded everyone around him that disability does not take away happiness, love, personality, or worth. When he passed peacefully in his sleep, the sanctuary lost one of its brightest little lights — a baby goat whose spirit felt far bigger than the time he was given.
Tango was never defined by what he couldn’t do. He was defined by how fiercely he loved life anyway.
