Rosie

Rosie was a beautiful Broad Breasted White turkey whose gentle heart and larger-than-life personality quickly made her a beloved member of Butterfly Valley Rescue & Sanctuary. Deeply loved by her previous family, Rosie came to the sanctuary when changing life circumstances made it impossible for them to keep her. From the moment she arrived, she settled in beautifully, charming everyone with her sweet nature and her signature "don't mess with me" power pose.

Like so many Broad Breasted White turkeys, Rosie carried the hidden health burdens that come from generations of selective breeding for rapid growth. Even so, she embraced every day with curiosity, confidence, and grace, finally experiencing the peaceful, loving life every turkey deserves.

Just over six months after finding her forever home, Rosie's health unexpectedly declined despite every effort to help her. Though her time at the sanctuary was far too short, she spent it surrounded by compassion, safety, and unconditional love. Rosie will always be remembered as a gentle ambassador who helped others see the beauty, intelligence, and individuality of turkeys.
