Libi
Libi was a tiny chicken with a heart far bigger than the injury she carried. She came to Butterfly Valley Rescue & Sanctuary after a traumatic accident left her missing the top half of her beak. Despite the challenges of learning to eat differently, Libi never let her difference define her. Instead, she became one of the sweetest, most affectionate residents the sanctuary had ever known.
Named Libi, a Hebrew name meaning "my heart," she lived up to it every single day. If there was a lap, a gentle hand, or a familiar voice nearby, Libi was there too. She formed a special friendship with Honey, followed her caregivers everywhere, and showed an unwavering trust in people despite everything she had endured. Her gentle spirit and constant desire for connection made her an ambassador for the sanctuary's belief that every life has value, no matter how different it may look.
Just under a month after arriving, Libi passed away unexpectedly. Though her time at Butterfly Valley was heartbreakingly brief, she experienced exactly what every animal deserves: safety, friendship, and unconditional love. Libi reminded everyone who met her that an animal is never defined by what they have lost, but by the love they continue to give. Her little heart—and the joy she brought to others—will never be forgotten.
