Grover

Grover was the first sheep to call Butterfly Valley Rescue & Sanctuary home and quickly became one of the most beloved residents in the sanctuary's history. Rescued at just four days old after being rejected by his mother, Grover arrived as a tiny bottle baby with an enormous capacity for love. Soon after his arrival, he was treated for a mild case of aspiration pneumonia, but with early veterinary care he recovered beautifully and continued growing into a big, healthy boy.

Grover had the gentlest soul imaginable. He never met a person or animal he didn't love, and his affectionate, snuggly nature made him an instant favorite everywhere he went. Whether greeting visitors, posing for photos, or simply spreading joy with his goofy personality, Grover had an incredible gift for making everyone around him smile.

Though Grover's life was far too short, his impact on Butterfly Valley was immeasurable. As the sanctuary's very first sheep, he paved the way for the many lambs who would follow, and his legacy of unconditional love continues to inspire everything we do.
