Gloria
Gloria was a tiny Katahdin/Dorper lamb whose life was filled with courage from her very first breath. Born with severe congenital tendon contractures affecting all four legs, every attempt to stand was a challenge, yet Gloria never stopped trying. Small even for a newborn, she battled through a snowstorm to reach Butterfly Valley, where she was welcomed with endless love, physical therapy, splints, and the promise that her differences would never define her.
Despite her fragile body, Gloria's spirit was anything but fragile. She eagerly worked through therapy sessions, proudly pushing herself to move in her wheelchair and stretching tight muscles with quiet determination. She was a gentle, trusting little soul who seemed happiest tucked beside her hooman mudder, accepting every therapy session with remarkable patience. It quickly became clear that Gloria didn't just want to walk—she wanted to run.
Tragically, with no warning, Gloria passed away peacefully in her sleep at just a few days old. Though her time was heartbreakingly brief, she knew nothing but warmth, safety, and unconditional love during her final days. Gloria reminded us that triumph isn't always measured by how long a life lasts, but by the courage shown in every moment it is lived. Her tiny footprints left an immeasurable mark on our hearts, and her story will forever shine as a beautiful reminder that different is beautiful.
