Andy

Andy was a beloved special-needs rescue goat whose determination far outweighed his tiny size. Rescued at less than 24 hours old and weighing just 1 pound 5 ounces, Andy was the smallest baby ever cared for at Butterfly Valley Rescue & Sanctuary. Born with congenital limb deformities that left his back legs shortened with severe tendon contracture, he faced an uphill battle from his very first day. Even so, Andy quickly learned to stand, play, and explore the world with remarkable determination while receiving daily therapy to help improve his mobility.

Though he was incredibly small, Andy's personality was anything but. He loved snuggling with his family, playing with everyone around him, and delivering surprisingly mighty little headbutts. He packed more joy, courage, and love into his short life than seemed possible, reminding everyone that strength isn't measured in size.

While Andy's time at the sanctuary was heartbreakingly brief, he spent every moment surrounded by love and left behind a lasting legacy of resilience. He showed us that every life, no matter how small or how short, can make an immeasurable impact—and that different is beautiful.
