Albie
Albie was a tiny goat who spent his entire life proving that different does not mean less. Born at a commercial dairy facility with severe neurological issues and a significant parrot mouth deformity, Albie was scheduled to be euthanized at just six days old simply because his body did not fit the industry’s definition of “normal.” Thankfully, a compassionate person stepped in to save him, and he arrived at our sanctuary at only 12 days old weighing a fragile seven pounds.
From the beginning, Albie’s journey was filled with challenges. His neurological condition, illness, and severe dental abnormalities made even basic things like eating difficult. His caretakers fought tirelessly for him through medications, sleepless nights, tube feedings, and constant monitoring, refusing to give up on the little goat who had already beaten impossible odds just by surviving. Over time, Albie transformed from a critically weak baby into a thriving, joyful goat with an enormous personality and a deep fascination with the sanctuary pigs.
Though Albie’s body ultimately could not overcome the progression of his neurological condition, he spent 150 days surrounded by fierce love, safety, and compassion — a life he was never supposed to have. He was silly, stubborn, affectionate, and unforgettable. Albie reminded everyone who followed his story that some souls are not measured by how long they are here, but by how deeply they change the hearts around them.
His life mattered. And his imprint always will.
