Remembering Stella

Stella was rescued with her brother George after battling a joint infection that caused her to lose use of one leg early in life. Stella spent her early days with mom, but with her joint infection worsening and a historic cold spell hitting Kentucky she was brought inside. After multiple attempts to find a fix for her leg failed, her family looked for a sanctuary to help.

Stella was quite the troopers as we made numerous attempts to heal her infected leg. Unfortunately, things weren't getting any better, so Stella underwent surgery for a partial amputation on January 23rd. Things didn't get any easier for Stella after her amputation as her amputation site had difficulty healing. She never let any of it slow her down though as she continued to thrive through all the obstacles. Stella will receive a prosthetic for her leg once she is fully healed. Unfortunately, Stella left this world far too early on July 13, 2023. Stella's memory and her gentle loving nature will always live on with those who knew and loved her.
