Jeffrey

Jeffrey is a blind Katahdin/Dorper lamb whose joyful spirit has made him one of the most inspiring residents at Butterfly Valley Rescue & Sanctuary. He arrived at the sanctuary just hours after he was born, after his caregiver realized he was completely blind and unable to keep up with his mother and twin sibling. Knowing he would need specialized, around-the-clock care to have the best chance at life, they entrusted Jeffrey to the sanctuary.

From the beginning, Jeffrey approached the world with remarkable determination. Though he cannot see, he quickly learned to navigate by listening for familiar voices, feeling the ground beneath his hooves, and carefully mapping his surroundings one brave step at a time. Before long, the tiny, uncertain lamb had transformed into a confident explorer, reaching the milestone of spending his first full nights outdoors with the rest of the sanctuary's Littles.

Today, Jeffrey is known for his boundless energy, playful personality, and unwavering trust in the people around him. Call his name, and he'll come running with complete confidence, proving that he doesn't need eyesight to live a full and adventurous life. Jeffrey is a beautiful reminder that courage isn't about having every advantage—it's about moving forward anyway.
