Meet Ruth

Ruth came to us immediately after birth. We had made an emergency run to help a mother that was having a very difficult labor. Fortunately, the mother had already given birth by the time we arrived. This small pygmy goat gave birth to four babies. Ruth was the smallest of the babies and was initially having some difficulty with her back legs. To give her and the other babies the best chance at survival we rescued sweet Ruth.​

This little, tiny tot weighed just 2.7lbs at birth making her one of the tiniest residents we've ever had. She may be small, but she has a mighty attitude and will to live. Ruth, who we also call Roo, has already seen significant improvement with her legs and is doing fantastic. Ruth is one of the rare "healthy" babies to call Butterfly Valley Rescue & Sanctuary home.
