Meet Roman

Roman

Roman, a spirited young Boer goat, found his way into our hearts and sanctuary after being abandoned at the gate of GiddyUp Horse and Wildlife Rescue in Cleveland, MO when he was just a few days old. Unable to use his back legs, Roman required more specialized care than what was available at his initial rescue location. His touching plight and the urgent need for specialized attention led to a heartwarming response from the community, resulting in a relay of dedicated transport volunteers who helped him make the journey to Butterfly Valley Rescue & Sanctuary.

Upon his arrival in Louisville, KY, Roman wasted no time in showing us his remarkable resilience and will to thrive. Adapting quickly to his new wheelchair, he showcased an inspiring ability to overcome his physical limitations, mastering mobility within minutes. Roman’s playful demeanor and his love for frolicking with sticks have made him a beloved member of our sanctuary family. His story is a powerful testament to the strength of community, love, and care, proving that with a bit of support, even those with significant challenges can lead joyful and fulfilling lives.
