Lucky

Lucky came to us at one month old. He had been born with some significant congenital leg deformities and tendon contracture in his front two legs.  These deformities made it extremely difficult for Lucky to walk like a normal goat. With the help of his original family Lucky adapted and learned to crawl around using his front limbs. 

Lucky's family reached out to find him permanent placement at the sanctuary knowing he would need more long-term care and rehab than they had the experience to provide.​

Lucky made the 265-mile trip from east Tennessee to his new home in Louisville, KY in May of 2023. Upon his arrival we immediately began splinting his legs and allow him walk correctly. Lucky will need significant care over the coming weeks including medication, therapy and lots of splinting of his legs to correct the deformities. The kids are already calling him "spidergoat".
