Clover

Clover was a gentle giant of a rabbit whose quiet resilience reminded us that kindness can change a life in an instant. His story began unexpectedly during a routine trip to a local pet store, where he had been surrendered just the night before after living in severely neglected conditions. With one cloudy eye from an old injury or infection, painfully overgrown nails, and clear signs that he had gone far too long without proper care, Clover needed someone willing to see beyond his circumstances.

After arriving at Butterfly Valley Rescue & Sanctuary, Clover quickly showed everyone who he really was. Once his nails were trimmed and he began receiving the care he deserved, he blossomed into a sweet, gentle rabbit who loved to explore and simply enjoy life. A veterinary examination confirmed that, despite the cloudiness in his eye and his difficult past, he was otherwise healthy and comfortable. Though his vision was limited, it never slowed his gentle spirit.

Just a few months after his rescue, Clover passed away peacefully in his sleep after spending the morning happily playing. His time with us was far too short, but he experienced what every animal deserves in the end: safety, compassion, and a home where he was deeply loved. Clover's story is a reminder that even when we can't change an animal's past, we can completely change the ending of their story.
