Chucky

Chucky came to us at 5 weeks old weighing just over 5lbs. This tiny little guy was born 9 days premature and weighed just 14.4oz at birth. He was born with his front right leg fused at the knee joint in a bent position. His back legs have severely contracted tendons causing them to be nearly fixed in a straight position and his front shoulders are severely contracted. Checky's family had worked incredibly hard with him, rehabbing him trying to get him moving, but knew he needed more care than they could provide.

Chucky is one of the cuddliest babies that we've ever had. He is adjusting well and can bear weight on his other three legs and is jumping and pushing himself around when in a sling. He cannot stand unassisted yet, but does very well with assistance and is beginning to adjust to his wheelchair. Chucky is incredibly feisty and is definitely a fighter. Our sweet Chucky was rescued to heaven and taken away from his earthly body that caused him so many problems on June 11, 2023. In a peaceful and poetic goodbye, Chucky left this world the same way he spent so many days on it, with a smile on his face.
